Halloween Events in Ontario 2024: Regional Guide

Halloween in Ontario is an exciting time with events happening all across the province. Whether you’re in the GTA, Niagara region, or further north, there’s something spooky for everyone. Here’s a breakdown of Halloween events happening in 2024, categorized by region to help you find the perfect haunting adventure near you.

 

GTA (Greater Toronto Area)

1. Halloween Haunt at Canada’s Wonderland (Vaughan)

One of the biggest Halloween events in Ontario, Halloween Haunt features haunted mazes, scare zones, and thrilling rides after dark. With creepy characters lurking around every corner, this event is not for the faint-hearted.

2. Screemers (Toronto)

This multi-attraction scream park offers haunted houses, thrilling rides, and a terrifying atmosphere. Screemers has been one of Toronto’s premier Halloween events for over 25 years, offering horror enthusiasts a frightful experience.

3. Boo at the Zoo at Toronto Zoo

A family-friendly event where kids can trick-or-treat through the zoo, visit a pumpkin patch, meet costumed characters, and learn about animals with spooky reputations. This is a great daytime Halloween event for families with young children.

4. Halloween on Church Street (Toronto)

On Oct. 31st, this massive street party in Toronto’s LGBTQ+ Village is one of the most vibrant Halloween events in Ontario. Expect elaborate costumes, music, and entertainment as thousands gather for a night of fun.

4. Prowl at the Park at Jungle Cat World (Orono)

On October 29th and October 30th the park will transform in to a hallowildlife experience like no where else. Enjoy a fun filled family night with candy stations and presentations where you will learn all about the animals. Costumes are encouraged!

 

Ottawa Region

1. Saunders Farm FrightFest & PumpkinFest(Ottawa)

A blend of terrifying haunted attractions and family-friendly activities, Saunders Farm’s FrightFest is a top Halloween destination in the Ottawa area. Explore haunted hayrides, mazes, and the eerie Barn of Terror.

2. Skreamers Proulx Farm (Cumberland)

Located just outside Ottawa, this farm offers spooky hayrides, a haunted house, and a full day of Halloween activities. Families can enjoy pumpkin picking and a corn maze during the day, while thrill-seekers can explore the scarier attractions at night.

3. Haunted Walk of Ottawa

Explore the haunted side of Ottawa with a guided ghost walk through some of the city’s most haunted locations. The eerie tales and historic settings make this a thrilling, yet informative, Halloween activity.

 

Eastern Ontario

1. Pumpkinferno at Upper Canada Village (Morrisburg)

Marvel at over 7,000 intricately carved pumpkins illuminating the night at this award-winning event. Stroll through magical pumpkin displays in this historic village for a unique, family-friendly Halloween experience.

2. Fort Fright at Fort Henry (Kingston)

The historic Fort Henry transforms into a terrifying fortress full of haunted rooms and spooky encounters. Fort Fright offers an interactive and eerie experience perfect for those looking to immerse themselves in Halloween terror.

 

Southwestern Ontario

1. Bingemans Screampark (Kitchener)

This Halloween event features multiple haunted houses, live performances, and horror-themed experiences. Bingemans Screampark is known for its boundary-pushing scares and heart-pounding excitement.

2. Pumpkins After Dark (Milton)

Pumpkins After Dark is Canada’s largest, award-winning outdoor Halloween event where jack-o-lanterns come alive at night! Enjoy a scenic 1 km walking path featuring thousands of hand-carved jack-o-lanterns, pumpkin sculptures, live carving demonstrations, costumed actors, fun food and more!

 

Niagara Region

1. Ghost Walks in Niagara-on-the-Lake

Niagara-on-the-Lake is famous for its ghostly history. Join a nighttime walking tour through haunted streets and hear eerie tales about the town’s most haunted locations. This event is perfect for history buffs and ghost enthusiasts alike.

2. Haunt Manor Hayrides & Haunted Houses (Niagara Falls)

Just outside Niagara Falls, Haunt Manor offers haunted hayrides, eerie corn mazes, and several haunted houses. The outdoor setting and creative attractions make this one of the most thrilling Halloween events in the region.

Central Ontario

1. The Stalking Dead Escape Maze (Peterborough)

A Haunted Outdoor Escape Game Experience, this is a thrilling and immersive Halloween attraction that challenges visitors to navigate a creepy, zombie-filled maze. Test your problem-solving skills as you dodge lurking zombies and solve puzzles to escape. NOT Recommended for players 13 years of age and younger.

2. Discovery Harbour’s Pumpkinferno (Penetanguishene)

Much like the event in Morrisburg, Pumpkinferno at Discovery Harbour features beautiful, illuminated pumpkin displays. Set against the historic backdrop of this harbor, the event is both spooky and picturesque.

2. Spooky All Hallows’ Eve at Lang Pioneer Village Museum

Step back in time as you explore the eerie 19th-century village lit by lanterns, with costumed interpreters sharing chilling ghost stories and tales from the past. The family-friendly event includes ghostly graveyards, fortune telling, tractor and wagon rides and other Halloween-themed activities

 

Northern Ontario

1. Pumpkinferno at Dynamic Earth (Sudbury)

Every fall, Dynamic Earth transforms into Northern Ontario’s family-friendly Halloween destination with Pumpkinferno, a one-of-a-kind, after-dark, outdoor experience featuring over 7,000 themed pumpkins.  Families can enjoy themed Halloween activities during the day, while the nighttime turns into a 50+ adult haunt and mingle.

2.Halloween Hoot at Fort William Historical Park (Thunder Bay)

Experience a family-friendly Halloween event with a costume parade, trick or treat, and other activities for younger children!

2.Blezard Valley Fields of Fear (Blezard Valley)

Dive into a world of terror and thrills at the ultimate Halloween haunt experience! From the Wicked Ware Outdoor Night Market to the heart-pounding haunted attractions, this event will send shivers down your spine. Explore the dark arts, encounter terrifying creatures, with a variety of events for all ages, including a family-friendly PumpkinFest and a spine-tingling NightTires Cruise Night, there’s something for everyone.
