Three days after I returned, the first COVID lockdowns began. Over the next couple of years, I used the photographs I had taken during my trip as my primary resource material for this series of paintings. I re-contextualized the images to reflect the loss and isolation I felt during this period of time. I spent the pandemic in my high-rise condo in downtown Toronto. This series of work was created between 2020 and 2024. My show runs from Wednesday, Feb 5th to Sunday, Feb 16th with an opening reception on Saturday, Feb 8th from 2-5 pm. During the opening, I will be giving an artist talk at 3 pm. The Leslie Grove Gallery is open weekly from Wednesday to Sunday from 12-5 PM. 1158 Queen Street East Barb Lewis barb@artistsnetwork.ca
